The setting
Gleann Síth House sits above a quiet stretch of the Trotternish coast, where the Old Man of Storr watches over one side and the sea holds the other. This is the untouched Skye — away from the queues of Portree and Broadford, ten minutes from the Fairy Glen, close enough to everything, crowded by nothing.
From here, the Outer Hebrides feel like a suggestion rather than a journey. Many guests treat this house as the beginning of a longer story across the islands.

Three bedrooms, a wall of glass toward the water, and a hearth that's earned its soot. Nothing here is trying to be a hotel.
An open, sea-facing room built around the view — a long table for slow dinners, and a fire for the nights the weather earns it.
Three bedrooms sleeping up to six, each with its own character — quiet, uncluttered, and dressed for genuine rest.
A private garden and deck that face the Minch directly — the kind of outdoor space you'll use even in Skye's changeable weather.
A week here
Walk straight from the door onto the Trotternish ridge, or drive twenty minutes to the Quiraing. Spend an evening doing absolutely nothing but watching the light change over the water. Both are the point.
We keep a running list of the walks, beaches, and small places we'd actually send a friend to — not a tourist checklist.

"Stunning location away from all the tourists, but close to some of the best sites including the Quarraing and The Ferry Glen. We used it as a base to explore the island for a week. Our host were amazing and very responsive. Would definitely recommend"

"We were travelling as three couples and had loads of space in the house. Great views, especially from the bedrooms upstairs and the copper bath tub is something from the movies. The fire burner was so cozy and it was helpful to have a huge utility and boot room for drying our clothes and doing washing after a few muddy hikes"

Good to know
The things guests usually ask before booking. Anything else, just get in touch.
Check-in is from 4pm, check-out by 10am. If you're arriving on an early ferry or a late flight, tell us — we're usually able to flex this a little.
Yes — private off-road parking for at least two cars, right at the house.
Yes, throughout the house. Skye's mobile signal can be patchy depending on your network, so the WiFi is there as a reliable backup for work or calls.
[Owner to confirm policy — e.g. "Yes, one well-behaved dog welcome by arrangement" or "Not currently, to protect guests with allergies."]
[Owner to confirm — e.g. any stairs, open fires, unfenced drops in the garden, or nearby water worth flagging for parents.]
Seven nights during peak season, three nights the rest of the year. If you're just outside those windows, ask — short gaps in the calendar are sometimes available.
[Owner to confirm — this should match whatever policy is set on your booking platform, so the two don't contradict each other.]
Most guests fly into Inverness (roughly 2.5 hours' drive) or take the train to Kyle of Lochalsh. If you're arriving from the Outer Hebrides, the Uig ferry lands about fifteen minutes from the house.
Layers, and something waterproof — Skye's weather can turn several times in a single afternoon, which is part of its character. The house has a fire and good heating for when it does.
Your hosts
Gleann Síth House is looked after directly by us, not a management agency — so if you need a recommendation for a rainy-day walk, a dinner booking, or just want to know what the fire needs, you're talking to someone who actually knows.
